Top 5 Halloween Events in NYC

There are plenty of fun-filled ghoulish activities that come to life during Halloween in New York City. Attend a costume party, tour a haunted house or enjoy one of the other many holiday festivals. There is something to entertain and bring chills to all members of the family. Groups of friends might also consider venturing into the city via Hamptons bus rental to take part in the spooktacular events.

1) Madonnathon Halloween Party

Venture to Chelsea to celebrate Halloween night with the Queen of Pop herself and various guest artists. For 15 years, Madonna and friends have entertained guests. Dress in your spookiest splendor and take to the dance floor while enjoying the festivities. Prizes are awarded in a variety of categories. Bring a date or come with friends and meet the ghoul of your dreams at the party. The festivities commence at the Highline Ballroom.

2) Twilight Tour at Green-Wood Cemetery

What scarier place to visit during October than Green-Wood Cemetery. On weekends throughout the month, guests have the chance to tour the 478 acres after dusk. Stop at the graves of famous people. Gaze upon some of the most elaborate sites. The adventure ends with a trip to the Catacombs. Or, wait until the third weekend of the month for the Night Fall event. Stroll along the candlelit path. Musicians, performing artists and storytellers await to entertain the crowd. There are usually a few unexpected surprises along the way.

3) Blood Manor

If in the mood for the fright of your life, take a trip to Tribeca and tour Blood Manor. Gallons of realistic blood spill every night to the thrill of visitors. The 5,000-square-foot facility dares guests to work their way through the labyrinth of terrors. Walk or run past specially themed rooms that include The Crypt and Hannibal’s Hell. The drama and torture are dramatic enough that children under the age of 14 are not admitted unless accompanied by an adult. The manor opens on October 5 and extends through Halloween.

4) Tales from the Grave: Ghosts and Hauntings of Greenwich Village

If paranormal exploration interests you, then a trip to Greenwich Village might be an exciting experience. Download the free app that takes guests through haunted neighborhoods using the GPS feature. The walking tour spans 400 years of horrific history as you trek to haunted churches, public parks and wraith-filled taverns known to have otherworldly visitors.

5) The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze

Guests of all ages enjoy seeing the illuminated sights on the grounds of Van Cortlandt Manor. When the sun sets, gaze in awe at the thousands of pumpkins boasting a large selection of hand carved, glowing designs.
